British Airways History 

British Airways is United Kingdom's flag carrier airlines with its headquarter at Waterside, 

Harmondsworth. It was founded in 1974 after the establishment of the British Airway Board by the British Government to manage the nationalized airlines and regional airlines. It began the 

World's first supersonic passenger service from London Heathrow to Bahrain in 1976. It is the 

second-largest airline of the United Kingdom and the first passenger to have earned more than 1 

billion on a single air route in a year. British Airways carries 1,45,000 customers to more than 

200 destinations in 80 countries across six continents in a day. 

Alliance and Codeshares 

International Airlines Group created by British Airways after merging with Iberia, is the World's 

third-largest airline group and second-largest in Europe in terms of annual income. It is the 

founding member of Oneworld airline Alliance which is third in the world after Skyteam and 

Star Alliance.

The main hub of British Airways is at London Heathrow Airport with major bases at Gatwick 

airport and London City Airport. It serves over 200 destinations including 8 domestic and 26 in

British Airways Fleet 

British Airways fleet consists of 163 Airbus and 120 Boeings. It has its own Engineering branch for maintaining its aircrafts with line maintenance at over 70 airports around the world. It also 

has Hangar facilities at Gatwick and Heathrow airport and two big maintenance centers at 

Cardiff and Glasgow airports. 

Cabin Service 

Euro Traveller is the Economy cabin of British Airways for a short haul flights within Europe 

where standard seat pitch varies from 29" to 34" depending on location of seat and aircraft type. 

Food can be purchase on board by using a credit or debit card or by Frequent Flyers Avios 

points. 

Club Euro is the Business class cabin of British Airways for short haul flights where the customer has access to business lounges at most airports. It provides seats in a 2-2 configuration 

and complimentary headphones to all customers on services where In-Flight entertainment is available. 

First is British Airways' First class cabin for mid and long haul flights with private cabins fitted with a 6 ft 6-inch bed, wide entertainment screen and in-seat power. Galleries First lounges are 

provided in some airports whereas Concorde Room lounges at Heathrow and New York Airport 

offer pre-flight dinner with waiter service. A wide range of champagnes, wines, spirits and 

non-alcoholic drinks are served with luxurious meals. 

Club World is British Airways' business class cabin for mid and long haul flights with fully convertible flatbed seats. The seats are designed in such a way that aisle seats face forward while 

middle and window seats face backward. A quality range of spirits, wines and champagnes are 

served with a varied three course menu. 

World Traveller Plus is British Airways' premium economy class cabin for mid and long haul 

flights with wider seats, extended leg-room, additional seat comforts, a foot rest and power sockets. A complimentary World Traveller bar is offered along with an upgraded meal. 

Complimentary drinks are offered before flying with a choice of three delicious main meals. Bar service with signature cocktails, hot drinks, juices, and water are served throughout the flight. 

World Traveller is the economy class cabin of British Airways for mid and long haul flights with 

seat-back entertainment, complimentary food and drink, pillows and blankets. It offers two 

choices of fare namely, Basic fare which is the lowest fare offered on selected routes and 

Standard fare which is a fully inclusive economy fare. 

Loyalty Programs 

The Executive Club is British Airways' frequent flyer program where members earn Avios reward points by flying with its airlines or partner airlines. This point can be redeemed for flights, 

upgrades and hotels after crossing one tier after another tier through numbers of flights taken. 

Members of the Executive Club have access to special lounges and fast queues.

* Customers will be informed in advance if there is flight cancellation whereas meal vouchers and hotel accommodation will be provided based on availability in case of flight disruptions and misconnections.                                                                                                                                                   

*The Airlines will issue refunds for fully-refundable unused tickets within 30 business days of receipt of the refund application in its original mode of payment with chargeable refund fees.                                   

*Food, water, lavatory facilities and medical assistance will be provided during lengthy Tarmac delays.                                                                                                                                                          

*Customers will be provided information on flight and boarding gate through online and at the airport check-in.                                                                                                                                          

*Extra assistance will be provided for the Disabilities and those passengers with special needs.                   

*Every possible effort to award mileage points will be made if the points expired without pre-       

notice.
