Aeromexico is a Mexican airline that provides scheduled services to more than 90 destinations, including Mexico; North-, South-, Central-America; Europe; Asia; and the Caribbean. If your child, who is older than 5 and younger than 13 years 11 months, is traveling alone via Aeromexico, then the Unaccompanied Minor Service will provide support from check-in to throughout the flight for the minor’s safety and well-being. For domestic routes, the service fee is 464 MXN for each individual minor. International flights will charge a fee of 116 USD for each minor that includes connecting flights within Mexico. The individual who drops the minor at the airport must have a valid official ID (passport or a voting ID would suffice) with them at the time of making the check-in for the minor. The same requirement applies to the person who would be accepting the minor at the destination airport as well.
If you’re an expectant mother traveling via Aeromexico, you need to produce a medical certificate/permission-to-travel document dated 5 days (maximum) prior to the date of flying, if you’re in your third trimester (30-37 weeks into your pregnancy) or if your pregnancy is considered high risk. Beyond the 38th week, Aeromexico asks you to not fly with them for your own safety. You must also sign a letter that frees Aeromexico any liability in regards to your pregnancy.
If you’re a new parent, you’re, of course, worried about your child’s safety and well-being like no other. So, it is always better to know the rules and policies beforehand. In Aeromexico, you (or your partner) must always accompany your infant/baby. If your child is below 2 years old, they shall not occupy an added seat and travel in your lap. The ticket for the infant will be issued to the final destination, and it will also include connections. An additional 15 USD may be charged to your wallet as an infant ticketing. For your and everyone’s safety, you need to produce a certificate of good health for your pet (veterinary certificate and statement that it is free of human-communicable diseases). You also must carry your pet in an approved pet carrier or cargo crate. If your flight is shorter than 5 hours, you can carry your dog in a plastic crate with metal doors with you in the cabin. Yay! If your pet is flying unaccompanied in a manifest cargo, you need to contact the Aeromexico cargo department to confirm that your pet transport does not require an agent’s assistance. An acclamation certificate may be required to travel your pet in cargo, in the periods of intense cold weather.
For basic fare, you can only have carry-ons with you that include wallet, backpack, portfolio, handbag, camera, etc. In the Main Cabin, as well as Clase Premier, you can have 2 carry-ons of the sizes with 22 lbs/10 kg (each) maximum with dimensions of (21.5 x 15.7 x 10) inches, which is (55 x 40 x 25) cm. For checked-in luggages, in the Main Cabin you can carry 1 luggage of 55 lbs. /25 kg, and 2 luggages of 66 lbs. /32 kg for the Clase Premier, with linear dimensions of158 cm. If you have limited/restricted mobility, then you can carry your wheel chairs, crutches, and any orthopedic devices required for your traveling in Aeromexico.
Aeromexico understands that sometimes plans don’t go in our way. So, if you book a flight 7 days or more before the flight and had to cancel it within 24 hours of your booking, your complete cost will be refunded back to you. However, if you had to cancel your flight a couple of hours before the flight, you will be bound to pay a penalty that entirely depends on fare rule of Aeromexico Airlines. Your cancel and refund procedure can be carried out on the Aeromexico official website, Aeromexico.com, without any hustle. Refund of your ticket will not be considered once it passes the expiry period. Otherwise, you should receive your refund within 7-10 working days.
